Moore named DSU head golf coach (Madison,
SD)- Keith Moore has been named the Dakota State University Head Golf
Coach. Moore takes the place of Tim Begeman, who resigned to devote more time to
his real estate business. Dr. Tom Gioglio, athletic director at DSU says
he expects a lot from Moore. “Keith is an outstanding addition to the Dakota
State University Men’s and Women’s golf program,” said Gioglio. “He is
an excellent teacher and brings to the team many years of successful past
experiences.” Keith and his wife Kristie have managed the
Lead Country Club golf course in the Black Hills. Keith has been an avid golfer
since high school and is looking forward to the new position. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of
keeping the Dakota State golf team a success,” said Moore. In
addition to his head golf coaching duties, Moore serves as an assistant coach
for the DSU men’s basketball team and is Resident Director of Zimmerman Hall,
where he and his wife live. Moore graduated from Northern State University
in 1990, where he was team captain for two years and a two-time All-Conference
player in basketball. He played in the NAIA national tournament his senior year. Moore began his coaching career at Hecla High
School in 1991 and recently coached at Lead High School, where his boy’s
basketball team won its first district title in twelve years and made its first
state tournament appearance in 23 years. A 1985 graduate of Lyman High School, Moore was a four-year letterman in three sports, a two-time All-State basketball player and played on a state championship team. |
