Fall Band Concert this Sunday at DSU

This Sunday, November 19 at 4pm, the Dakota State University music department will present a Fall Band Concert in the Performing Arts Center on the campus of DSU. Admission is free.

The band is directed by Daniel Mortenson, who has been director of bands at DSU since 1994. Forty-three students and members of the community comprise the two bands. One band is a standard concert band with brass, woodwinds, and percussion – the other is a jazz or stage band, with saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and a full rhythm section.

A multimedia presentation goes along with most sections of the concert, intended to compliment various aspects of the music.

Mr. Mortenson and the band wish to thank the Kingsmen Club for its faithful support of scholarships for band members and for assisting with other ventures of the band.
