Dakota State University Madison – Dakota State University unveiled its
second generation College Viewbook CD Rom.
Dakota State University, nationally recognized for its use of technology
in the classroom, also prides itself for its use of technology in its
recruitment efforts. The CD Rom is
another step in the recruitment process that also includes virtual visit days,
email newsletters, monthly chat groups, and personal emails. The CD-Rom is narrated by two DSU students, Laura Calmus of
Howard, SD and Nathan Timmermans of New Holland, SD. The students take prospective students and others on a
“tour” of campus – admissions & financial aid, academics, student
life, computer technology, and student services are the stopping points.
Prospective students can view video segments, photo galleries, and audio
clips throughout the CD-Rom. The
CD was designed to be interactive with the Dakota State website (www.dsu.edu)
and provides links throughout the layout. A
link to the DSU application is also included. “We plan to get the CD Rom into the hands of all prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and others to give them a chance to preview campus without ever leaving their home or office. It is a unique way to add a personal touch and highlight our technology mission,” said Dr. Jerald Tunheim, president of DSU. |
