Distance Learning Week recognized at DSU Madison – Dakota State University’s Office of
Distance Education will be sponsoring a web site and chat room in honor of
Distance Learning Week. Distance Learning Week is sponsored by the United States
Distance Learning Association, a professional organization whose mission is to
promote and advocate distance learning within the K-12, higher education,
corporate and government markets. Senator
Ted Kennedy introduced a resolution, passed and adopted by the Senate, declaring
distance learning week February 28-March 3. A web site (http://www.departments.dsu.edu/disted/dlweek.htm)
has been created by DSU’s Office of Distance Education which includes an
RealVideo welcome address by Deb Gearhart, Director of Distance Education.
There are also statistics on DSU distance education students,
descriptions of services provided to students, and a list of several links
related to distance education. The web site will also offer a chat room on Wednesday,
March 1st from 4:00-5:00 (CST).
The chat room will give people an opportunity to ask questions or make
comments about distance education programs.
To participate in the chat room, access the distance learning week web
site at http://www.courses.dsu.edu/disted/dlweek.htm. For further information, please contact the DSU Office of
Distance Education at 605-256-5049. (end) |
