Mundt Library
Online provides access to the Mundt Library's materials, services, and staff,
including links to:

another research database. If you know the name of the database you
need, use the "Database QuickLinks" dropdown in the upper right corner of
the library homepage.

Database
Searching Service
When one of
the library's electronic information services is inaccessible to an
E-Education student, a librarian will
do the search for the student and provide a list of citations to journal
articles, books, or other
materials. The student may then select items from the list and the library
will send them to the student [See "Document Delivery" below].
Please send search
request to Risë Smith.
Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan
The Mundt
Library will deliver materials to E-Education and to USDSU students for
educational purposes. For example, materials include:
-
photocopies (which can be kept; at no charge -- see
costs
for details) of articles from magazines, newspapers, journals,
and reference sources.
-
books
and other materials (which must be returned to the Mundt Library
within a designated time period; student pays the cost of returning the
item -- see costs).
If
an item is not owned by the Mundt Library, the Mundt Library can usually
borrow it from another library through our
Interlibrary Loan Service.
Please
send requests for specific items by using one of the online
Interlibrary Loan Forms. Include a complete citation or as
much information about the item (title, author, etc.) as you can, and be
sure to include an address if it is to be mailed to you.

We are happy to help.
Send your
request for research help to Risë Smith or Todd Quinn.
The Mundt Library is committed to
providing service in a timely manner. To
facilitate your research, we provide as much scholarly material as possible
online. Links to these information services may be found in the yellow
"Search Tools" section on the library home page.
However, when we must borrow material
from another library and/or send items through the mail to you, we cannot
guarantee an exact delivery time.
Please plan ahead and request help and services early.
In general:
-
Database search results
are sent via e-mail within 3 working days (excluding Saturday,
Sunday & holidays) after we receive the request.
-
Items owned by the
Mundt Library are sent via U.S. mail or UPS within 1 working day
(excluding Saturday, Sunday & holidays) after we receive the request.
-
Items that must be
obtained from other libraries will be sent via U.S. mail, UPS, or some
other delivery service when the Mundt Library receives them -- generally
10-15 days.
E-Education students pay the
cost of shipping materials back to the Mundt Library. A
courier service to the University Center in Sioux Falls is free, and students
there may pickup and return items at the Resource Center on the second floor to
avoid incurring return shipping charges. The
Mundt Library pays all other document and book delivery costs.
E-Education and USDSU students are
responsible for returning borrowed items to the Mundt Library by the date
designated at the time of the loan.
Students will be charged for overdue, damaged, or lost items.

Access
to Electronic Resources at the Mundt Library. |
Your special library ID number (a 14-digit
number which begins with 21578….) and library password (your last name) are the
keys to your access to many research databases
provided by the Mundt Library when you are not on DSU's
Madison
campus.
How to successfully login from
off-campus...
When you click on the link to any research database
on the Mundt Library
website [databases can be found by linking to
"Research Databases (by Subject)," "Research Databases (A-Z)," or by using
the "Database Quicklinks" dropdown menu in the upper right corner of the
home page],
you
will be required to login with a username and password.
- The username is your 14-digit
library ID number. The library ID numbers for DSU students, faculty,
and staff all begin with the numbers 21578.... (for
example: 21578000000000). You can find this number on the front
of your DSU ID card. E-Education students or Sioux
Falls University Center students, who do not have ID cards, will
receive this library ID number (not a card) from the
Mundt Library. If you do not receive a library ID
number or do not remember your library ID number, please
contact
the library to request it.
- The password is your last name (for
example, smith).
If you are unable to login with your ID and
password, please
contact
the library.
