Before beginning the modules, become familiar with the Mundt Library Home Page. The home page is your link to numerous resources, to information that will help you do research, and to various library services that you will learn about in this tutorial.

~~ Go look at the Mundt Library home page, and then return here.

Note the following features of the home page and the links from it....

  • At the top are the library address, phone number, and fax number.
  • Just under the M logo are links that lead to information About the Library.
  • Below "About the Library" are links to Services offered by the library including Ask a Librarian and Interlibrary Loan.

    > Use Ask A Librarian to get help from a librarian.

    > You will learn about Interlibrary Loan in Module 15.

    > Distance students can get information about library services for them by linking to For Distance Students.

  • In the yellow area below "Services" are links to Search Tools -- including the library catalog and online information services you will be using to carry out your research. Modules in this tutorial will tell you how to use those information services.
  • The Research Assistance area contains links to help you learn to do research and find particular types of information sources (such as books or magazine articles). You will also learn how to find different types of sources as you work through the modules of Basic Research in the Virtual Library.
