Research in the Virtual Library:
for ENGL 101
and ENGL 201/301

While on campus, students, faculty and staff may access the South Dakota Library Network from labs, offices, dorm rooms, and the library without using an SDLN ID or password. However, when accessing SDLN from off-campus, an ID and password will be requested when you attempt to connect to some databases of SDLN. You will then need to use your SDLN Library ID and password (which are different from a DSU computer ID and password).
If you have a Dakota State University ID card or a guest borrower library card from the Mundt Library, you will find your library ID number (a number which begins 21578...) on the front of the card. Your password is your last name. If you are taking a distance education course through the E-Education Services office, you should have been issued a Library ID number (a number which begins 21578...) by them. Distance Education students who have not been issued a Library ID number should contact DSU's Office of Distance Education or the Library. Students in Sioux Falls usually get their library ID numbers from their instructors. If you have not received a library ID number, e-mail reference@dsu.edu to request it [and include your full name, address, and the course(s) you are currently enrolled in].
1. In your browser (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer), you will first go to the Mundt Library's homepage: http://www.departments.dsu.edu/library 2. Click on the "SD Library Network" link, which is in the yellow "Search Tools" section of the Library's home page. 3. Click on "Connect to SDLN - Web version" -- which will take you to a screen where you select a library & a resource to search. |
