Keeps track of your interlibrary loan requests!
The Library's new Interlibrary Loan system, ILLiad, helps you keep track of items you've requested, items being processed, and items received.
"Interlibrary Loan" is the library service you use to request books, journal articles, and other media that are not accessible through the Mundt Library's online databases or in the Library's print collections. As the name suggests, Library's borrow from each other to provide the materials needed by their clients/users. The service is free to you and provides you with access to library collections nationwide.
Find Interlibrary Loan.
- To request books, journal articles, and other media through Interlibrary Loan, click on the "Interlibrary Loan" link in the "Get Services" area in the left navigation bar on the Library's home page.
- This will take you to the Library's page where Interlibrary Loan services are described. To make your request for an item, click on the link to "Interlibrary Loan Request Forms /and/ ILLiad tracking." You'll arrive at the ILLiad window.
First-Time users of ILLiad.
- The first time you use ILLiad to request an item, you will need to click on the "First Time Users" link and register to use the system.
- From then on, you'll simply login to your ILLiad account whenever you want to make a request or to track items previously requested.
Request items through ILLiad.
- After you login to ILLiad, go to the "New Requests" area on the left side of the screen to choose the type of item you want to request -- article, book, etc. -- which will take you to the request form. Fill it out and submit it.
- You'll receive items as you have in the past (articles are e-mailed to you; you pick up physical items like books at the library; physical items are mailed to distance students).
Track items in ILLiad.
-
After you login to ILLiad, go to the "View" area on left side of the
screen. Here you can choose:
* Outstanding Requests - items in process
* Electronically Received Articles - articles received * Checked Out Items - physical items checked out to you * Cancelled Requests - items you've canceled * History Requests - a history of past requests * All Requests * Notifications - notifications to you such as "request loan has arrived"
- When you have items listed in one of the View sections (such as "All Requests"), click the link to the item to see its status. For example, in "All Requests", clicking on an item will show you the original request and any notes that you placed in your request, followed by "Tracking" which shows date and time stamps for each step in processing the item.
We hope that you'll find ILLiad's tracking a valuable addition to our Interlibrary Loan services. If you have any questions, please contact Shannon Vostad.
Enjoy!
