To transfer
video from a Sony Digital 8 camera to your computer you will
need to download and install two software programs (Step A).
After these are installed and setup follow the Transfer video
instructions (Step B).
Step A is a one-time setup process and will take
20-30 minutes.
A. Download and install
these two software programs for transfer.
1. Open an internet browser (e.g. Internet
Explorer, Mozilla Firefox). Mozilla Firefox was used in creating
these instructions.
2. Select this Sony support

to download the Sony USB Driver. 3. Then,
select Download Now (without Download Taxi)
4. Once selected a new screen will
appear 5. Read the Software Agreement and
select “Accept Agreement” to continue.

A new window will now appear asking you to save a file called
USBDRVEN.EXE, select “OK”

This will install an icon on your desktop. Double click on
this icon.

A new window will appear Select “OK”. This will uncompress the
folder to the desktop

Once the file is done uncompressing a new folder will appear on
your desktop called “Sony_usb.” Double click on this folder.

Once the folder is open you should
see these files. Double click on “Setup.exe."

This will open an Installation Wizard. Follow through the wizard
reading the instructions and clicking the “Next” buttons. Make sure you read all of the instructions.

Once it is done installing it will ask you to restart your
computer. * To use the software you will need to restart your computer. * If you wish to restart now select
yes. * If you wish to restart later select
no. * When finished click “Finish.”
