Article Databases
An article database is one type of research database that will point you to articles published in magazines, journals, and newspapers. We will concentrate on this type of database for the next few pages.
Article databases, or periodical database/index, allow you to search for citations to articles in popular magazines and scholarly journals. Many articles in an database/index will be "full text." Article/research databases cover all sorts of subjects. If you start with a general article/research database you will find articles about new trends, opinions, and information for the non-specialist. You may be familiar with the general article/research databases called EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier or ProQuest Research Library. Article databases are one of the best sources to use when writing a research paper.
An article database will include at least a citation (the article's author, title, magazine or journal title, and publication date) for each article in its database.
