Step 1: Define

 

Consider: What keywords describe what you want to know?

 

Think about what words and phrases could be searched to produce the information you want.
Think of alternative ways to refer to the same topic.

Example: Animal rights
"animal rights," "rights of animals," "protection of animals," "animal(s) research," etc.

You will need to use the keywords that describe your topic in order to search research databases, (keyword searching will be covered in Module 2) to find quality information (articles, books, etc).
