Susan Slaughter

Susan is responsible for organizing and tracking all curriculum activity for the campus. She is the liaison between the VPAA and the college deans and secretaries for all academic issues, as well as between the VPAA and the Board Office. She collects data and prepares reports for submission to the Board of Regents. Susan manages the Instructional and Professional Development travel account and reviews all requests that come forward from faculty prior to VP signature. She also manages the faculty/staff recruitment accounts and edits and places ads, sets up search committees, etc. She is the primary supervisor for the two work-study students in our office. Susan also has taken on additional duties in the past two years to off-load some duties previously assigned to the Enrollment Services staff. She prepares all student correspondence dealing with academic issues such as suspension, probation, honors, academic skills, suspension, etc. She also coordinates production of the university catalog and prepares the academic course schedules for publication.

Susan’s duties require her to work with a wide range of campus personnel, as well as off-campus constituencies. Good communication skills are needed in order to keep projects on task. We feel Susan has built a good rapport with the various groups she deals with in carrying out her job functions. She is always professional, friendly, and courteous. Additionally, Susan displays a willingness to assist others with projects when asked.
