Daryl Fletcher 

Daryl Fletcher, a 1973 graduate of Dakota State, is a Hartford, SD native, and his entire teaching career has been spent in Elk Point, SD. Currently in his 26th year of teaching Science and Health, Fletcher has coached Football, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, and Track. More recently, Fletcher has had outstanding Gold teams, and his Girls Basketball team is off to a 7-0 start this season.

After making All-State in Football two years, and All-State in Football and Baseball. He quarterbacked the 1971 Boot Hill Bowl Champions in 1971, and was named Most Valuable Player. The Boot Hill Bowl was the only post season game Dakota State has played in Football. Fletcher still holds three passing records for Dakota State, including most completions in one game (30).

In addition to being named All-Conference in Football for 3 years, Fletcher was also named All-Conference in Baseball 3 times, and received the Dusty Anderson Award. His playing days continued after college in SD Amateur Baseball, where he was named 1975 State Amateur Baseball Title. He was also the first player to get 5 hits in a State Tournament game in 1995.

Daryl is currently the President of the SD High School Coaches Association. He has coached 5 State Championship Girls golf teams, and his Girls Basketball team was 3rd place in 1996. He received his "25-Year Coaching Award" last year.
