Madison Community Center

A view of the Madison Community Center. Works cited #10

In 2000 the Madison Community Center was built as a joint effort between Dakota State University and the Madison Community. The Community Center, or CC as it is commonly called, is a facility providing activities for both young and old.9

The CC was built north of the main campus attached to the original DSU Fieldhouse. This gave DSU a new building for the use of the students. The Madison Community also received a building to serve their needs.

The Community Center provides many activities for students and community members alike. These include:9

  • An indoor pool with depths ranging from zero to 12 feet
  • An 85 ft waterslide
  • A double gym with wood floor
  • Child care room and teen center
  • Aerobics room
  • Fitness center with cardiovascular and circuit training equipment
  • Locker rooms for Men, Women, and Family
  • A 1/12th mile Walking Track
  • Climbing wall, Racquetball Courts
