College of Business and Public Administration.  Emphasis in Marketing and Global Business.  Master's Thesis: A Country Risk Assessment of Hong Kong. Degree conferred May 1996.

Experience in Higher Education

Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs Dakota State University, Madison SD.  August 2004-present.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise various DSU Student Affairs departments including Residence Life, Financial Aid, Admissions, Bookstore, Student Activities, Student Development, Diversity Services, Dining Services, University Card program, Career Services, Dakota Prairie Playhouse, Summer Conferencing, Disability Services, Health Services, Intramural Athletics, and the Student Center
     
  • Represent DSU on Student Affairs Council (SD system-wide committee of Student Affairs vice presidents plus BOR General Counsel).
     
  • Chair Campus Committees including General Activities Fee (GAF) Allocations, Student Media Board, and Retention (co-chair with Academic VP).
Accomplishments:
  • Re-negotiated new 10-year campus beverage contract.
     
  • Served on statewide Tuition Review Committee that ultimately helped to gain Board of Regents' approval to adopt new out-of-state tuition policy.
     
  • Presented paper on doctoral research at regional 2006 NAFSA conference in St. Louis and was selected as the top presentation out of more than 40 presentations.
Assistant Professor of Marketing University of Minnesota, Crookston.  1997-2004.
Responsibilities:
  • Taught numerous marketing and management courses.
     
  • Regularly advised 40-50 business students.
     
  • Directed UMC's Study Abroad program.
     
  • Served as UMC SIFE Team Advisor.
Accomplishments:
  • Increased campus Study Abroad participation by 100% three straight years at UMC. 
     
  • Led UMC SIFE Team to five straight regional championships.
     
  • Named Outstanding Educator by UMC Student Body in 1999-2000.
