8.  EXPLANATION OF THE CHANGE:

 

The content covered in PE 451, Tests and Measurements, is covered in EXS 400 Exercise Testing & Prescription and EXS 300 Introduction to Research.  Therefore, PE 451 is being removed from the program.

 

Based upon observations during the student internship experience, students need more training on how to effectively demonstrate, provide cues and appropriate feed back to clients. With the addition of EXS 405 Methods of Training to the core requirement block, students will learn these particular skill sets.

 

A number of the students majoring in Exercise Science add a Health minor and HLTH 110 is a required course for the Health minor.  Adding HLTH 110 to the list of electives would avoid the additional paperwork necessary for a course substitution.
