Program Description:

The field of Health Information Technology combines the disciplines of medicine and information technology. Students completing the courses for the associate degree in Health Information Technology may chose to graduate with that degree, or may apply for admission into the Health Information Administration program and, if accepted, complete the requirements of the bachelor of science HIA degree. Graduates of the HIT program are eligible to write American Health Information Management Association's certification examination to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
