Finance (BBA)
This program is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. (ACBSP). The program blends solid computer orientation with traditional business. In addition to finance courses, subjects will also include accounting, management, marketing, production and operations management, business law, computer applications, and computer programming.
Graduates will:
- Understand concepts and application of finance, accounting systems, economics, management, marketing and production -- integrated with computer skills.
- Understand various security instruments, security markets, security analysis, and portfolio management.
- Understand the U.S. financial system processes and procedures.
- Learn the skills of commercial bank financial management.
- Learn the different aspects of financial futures and options.
- Understand computer programming concepts including Visual BASIC.
- Understand the legal and ethical operations of a business entity.
Possible Career Choices
Budget Analyst: Reviews expenditures and prepares operating budgets for various departments to ensure conformance to budgetary limits. Maintains knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field of employment.
Credit Analyst: Responsible for credit risk analysis. May work with accounts receivable department. Maintains knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field of employment.
Financial Planning Analyst: Responsible for conducting competitive financial analysis projects and statistical studies. Maintains knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field of employment.
Loan Officer/Counselor: Identifies and assists prospective clients in the loan application process. Verifies applications and approves loans. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field of employment. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
Stock Broker: Markets company's products and/or services to prospects and clients. Assists clients in developing plans to achieve financial goals. Must meet state licensing requirements and become a registered representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD). Must also pass the Series 7 exam (General Securities Registered Representative Examination).
Treasury Analyst: Responsible for financial planning and analysis to forecast budgets and financial status. Researches economic trends and investment opportunities. Determines procurement of funds and monitors investments and collections. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field of employment.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program blends a solid computer orientation with traditional business, accounting, marketing, management, and finance courses. Computer related activities are integrated into coursework.
Students are required to select one business related major from Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing. These specific majors greatly enhance the student’s future employment opportunities.
