Sciences students. The professors here at the Business and Information Systems College
come from diverse backgrounds including both academic and industry experience enabling

I serve as a Professor of Business and
Computer Information Systems in the College of
Business and Information Systems at Dakota State
University. I have been involved in the computer
information systems area since 1977 when I began
working with the IBM Corporation as a Marketing
Representative. I usually teach Honors 105
(Introduction to Computers), BADM 482 (Strategic
Management), and BADM 435 (Management of
Technology) as well as several graduate courses. |

Since 1999, Deb has shared over 20 year’s
industry experience in International Marketing
with the students of DSU. In addition to her
teaching activities, Deb serves as the
internship coordinator for the BIS college – as
well as continuing her industry endeavors as
Director of International Operations for a local
company. Family, dogs, travel and country living
occupy her spare time. |

Prof. Janke has taught finance since 1985.
He developed the finance curriculum at DSU and
teaches all of the finance courses in it. He
gives presentations on his research interests at
conferences each year. He maintains the Finance
program Web site, an extensive site on financial
resources on the Web, as well as a tips page on
Excel and other course-companion Web sites. He
conducts investment contests annually for his
finance classes. As a service to the general
world community he maintains widely-known Web
sites on the American Civil War and the Old
West, having had seven Western novels of his own
published. |

Bio: |
Dr. Daniel Talley is associate professor of
economics at Dakota State University. Dr. Talley
has taught at DSU since 1996, upon receiving his
doctorate in economics from the University of
Oregon in Eugene, OR. Dr. Talley is also a
faculty co-advisor to the DSU chapter of Phi
Beta Lambda, a student organization dedicated to
fostering student leadership, academic
achievement and service to the university and
community. All majors are welcome to join PBL.
Dr. Talley is married and has one child, age 4.
He is an active member of the Madison chapter of
the Knights of Columbus and the Madison chapter
of Rotary International. |

Jack teaches management and business
communication courses at DSU. He has worked as
faculty and as an administrator at two
universities over the past 12 years. He also
spent 13 years in the private sector, rising to
the level of senior vice president of marketing
before returning to school to complete his Ph.D.
at the University of Texas at Austin. In his
spare time, Jack likes to write fiction and work
on his inventions. |
