Jensen Named USF All-Tournament Team

September 10, 2007

(Madison, SD) - Sophomore Rachael Jensen have her name recorded in the Trojan Volleyball Record Book this past weekend in the University of Sioux Falls Classic.  The Trojans concluded the classic with a 1-3 record, but this young Trojan squad came in all games by going to five games in three of four matches played at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Jensen, sophomore outside hitter, recorded 27 kills in Trojans' first season win over Dana in five games.  The 27 kills placed Jensen second in the Trojan Volleyball Record Book for most kills in a match, just one short of tying Amanda Vos-Keizer.  For the tournament, Jensen amassed 64 kills (3.37 kills per game).  As a result, Jensen was named All-Tournament team for the Trojans.  She leads the team in kills with 129 kills and 3.58 kills per game for the season.  Rachael is the daughter of Mark and Jonda Jensen of Beresford, SD, and is majoring in Physical Therapy at Dakota State University.

The Trojans (1-8, 0-1 DAC) return back to DAC Conference action on the road this weekend, looking for their first conference win of the season.  On Friday night, the Trojans will face nationally ranked Dickinson State in Dickinson, ND (8:00 pm CT/7:00 pm MT), and Saturday night versus Minot State in Minot, ND (7:00 pm CT).
