Two Trojan Volleyball players broke into the record book last night in a
tight, close 3-0 loss to in-state rival Dakota Wesleyan (28-30, 25-30,
32-34).
Stacy Dunklau, a
senior right side from Arlington, NE, recorded 22 kills and had a
killing efficiency of .556. Dunklau's 22 kills tied for 5th in
Trojan Volleyball record book for most kills in a match. She has
152 kills for the season with 4.34 kills per game and a killing
efficiency of .307. As of September 18, Dunklau is 2nd in the DAC
Conference for kills per game (3.82) and 4th in blocks with 1.03 blocks
per game.
Stephanie Nygaard,
a sophomore libero from Milbank, SD, had 27 digs in the 3-0 loss to
Dakota Wesleyan. Nygaard's 27 digs tied her for 15th in Trojan
Volleyball record book for most digs in a match. She is currently
leads the team in defense with 4.47 digs per game. She has had 85
digs in 19 games she has played this season. For the season, she
has also served .973 with only two serving errors for the Trojans.
The Trojans return
to DAC Conference action as they play South Dakota Tech Friday night in
Rapid City and Black Hills State Saturday night in Spearfish. Both
match time will be at 7:00 pm (MT). The Trojans will return back
home for their four match homestand beginning on Tuesday as the kick off
the homecoming week where they host the GPAC foe Morningside College at
7:00 pm at the DSU Memorial Field House.
