Bassett
honored as DAC Setter of the Week for her second time this season
Katie Bassett, freshmen from Omaha,
NE, has been selected as DAC Setter of the Week for her second time this
year. For the week, Bassett had 135 assists (10.38 apg), 6 service
aces (0.46 apg) with a serve percentage of .908, 7 kills with a killing
percentage of .429, and 32 digs (2.46 dpg) to help the Trojans to a
runner-up finish in the DAC Postseason Tournament.
For the season, Bassett has a total of 1094 assists
(6th in DAC with 10.13 apg), which had placed her third in Trojans'
record book for most assists in a single season. In addition, she
is the leader in service aces at 41 (0.4 apg). Bassett has begun
making her mark in the Trojan Volleyball record books and can be found
twice for most assists in a match, 6th with 62 assists vs. Black Hills
State and 8th against NCAA Division II University of Mary.
Bassett is the
daughter of Matt and Mary Jo Bassett of Omaha, NE. She is a freshmen
majoring in Business.
Brassfield tabbed as DAC Libero
Player of the Week for her seventh time this season,
ending her volleyball career at Dakota State
After naming DAC Libero of the Year
and All-Conference 1st Team, Brassfield had been nominated as DAC Libero
Player of the Week for her seventh time this year. For the week,
Brassfield had 95 digs (7.31 dpg), 5 service aces (0.38 apg) with a
serving rate of .924, and had only 2 reception erros out of 122 total
receptions attempts (passing rate of .984) to lead the Trojans to a
second place finish in the DAC Post-Season Tournament.
For the season at Dakota State, Brassfield has
amassed 763 digs
(6.6 dpg) and moved into
1st place for most digs in a season. She
also finished 2nd in career digs with 1858 digs. Brassfield was also awarded the Region III Libero of the Week
award in September. This marked the first time in Coach Henning's tenure
that a Trojan Volleyball Player has won this award.
Brassfield is a
senior at Dakota State and is majoring in Computer Graphics. She is the
daughter of Dale and Trudy Brassfield of New Underwood, SD.
