Brassfield honored as DAC Libero
Player of the Week for her fifth time this season

31, 2005) Ashley Brassfield, senior libero from
New Underwood, SD, was selected
as DAC Libero Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
Brassfield broke the school record for digs in a match with a 51 dig
performance (breaking her old record of 42 digs) in a five game loss to
DAC rival, Jamestown College. In the contest, she averaged 10.2 digs
per game along with registering 0.6 aces per game, and passed at 93% for
the match.
For the season, Brassfield had received NAIA Region III Libero Player of
the Week honors twice. She has notched 607 digs this season with an
average of 6.4 digs per game and has a serving percentage of 94% with
0.3 aces per game. Currently, Brassfield is second in the Trojan
Volleyball record books for career digs with 1702. "Ashley has been a
great defensive player for us and this year she has been rock steady for
us. Ashley has a great talent and has worked very hard to make herself
one of the best liberos in our conference," said Cynthia Henning, Dakota
State University volleyball coach. Brassfield is the daughter of Dale
and Trudy Brassfield of New Underwood, SD and is majoring in Computer
Graphics.
