Bassett
honored as DAC Setter of the Week

The DAC had
nominated Katie Bassett as their conference setter of the Week. For the
week, Bassett had 69 assists (9.86 apg), 25 digs (3.57 dpg), four
service aces (0.57 apg) and four kills (0.57 kpg) in leading the Lady
Trojans to a pair of conference victories on the road in Mayville and
Valley City.
For the season,
Bassett has a total of 645 assists (9.5 apg) and leads the Trojans in
service aces at 26 (0.4 apg). Bassett has already begun making her mark
in the Trojan Volleyball Record books and can be found twice for most
assists in a match #6 with 62 vs Black Hills and #8 with 60 against NCAA
Division II University of Mary. In addition, she recorded four service
aces three times in a match and is tied for
4th in the record book for most aces in a match.
Bassett is the
daughter of Matt and Mary Jo Bassett of Omaha, NE. She is a freshmen
majoring in business.
Brassfield tabbed as DAC Libero
Player of the Week for the third time this season,
along with NAIA Region III Libero Player of the Week for the second time

For the third
time this season, Brassfield had been chosen as DAC Libero Player of the
Week. In addition, for the second time this
year, she received a honor for Region III Libero Player of the Week. Brassfield had 52 digs (7.43 dpg) in helping lead the Trojans to
a 2-0 record for the week and run their conference win streak to six.
Brassfield also served 100% and had a passing percentage of 95%.
Brassfield has
amassed 454 digs (6.1 dpg) for the season and has a serve percentage of
93%. Brassfield was also awarded the Region III Libero of the Week
aware in September. This marked the first time in Coach Henning's tenure
that a Trojan Volleyball Player has won this award.
Brassfield is a
senior at Dakota State and is majoring in Computer Graphics. She is the
daughter of Dale and Trudy Brassfield of New Underwood, SD.
