Kostelecky Signs with Trojan Volleyball
Team
The
Dakota State University Volleyball team has announced it’s first
signing for the 2004 season. Jenna Kostelecky a 5’7” outside
hitter from Anoka, MN has signed to play for the Trojans.
Kostelecky is the daughter of Dean and Jolynn Kostelecky and plans
on majoring in business administration/marketing while at Dakota
State.
“Jenna,” according to head coach Cynthia Henning “is a great fit
for our volleyball program. She has exceptional court sense and
moves very well not only offensively but defensively.”
During her high school career, Kostelecky was voted most improved
player and helped lead her 2003 team to the Minnesota state
tournament. Along with her strength on the volleyball court, Jenna
is an exceptional student and has achieved many academic awards
including National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American High
School Students, and she is a two-time
academic letter winner.
“We
are very excited about Jenna choosing Dakota State. We think she
is a great addition to our program and we expect her to help us
continue the strong tradition we have built here at Dakota State,”
concluded Coach Henning.

Morgan Signs with Trojan Volleyball
Breanna Morgan a 5’5” outside hitter/libero has signed to play
volleyball for Dakota State University. Morgan comes to Dakota
State from a very strong high school program at West Central in
Hartford, SD.
Morgan is the daughter of Martha and Thomas Morgan and plans to
pursue a degree in business
management/coaching. During her high school career Morgan has been
a two time All Conference player along with being selected as the
Gatorade Will to Win athlete in 2000 and the Coca-Cola Unsung Hero
Award in 2002.
“I’m very excited to have Bre in our program,” said head coach
Cynthia Henning. “She is a solid player that will impact our
program. She is a very quick and explosive player so there will be
numerous positions we will look at her in for next year.”

Lisa Rogers a 5’7” setter from Madison High School and an integral
part of the Bulldogs successful 2003 campaign will be staying
close to home for her collegiate career. Rogers has signed to play
volleyball for Dakota State University.
“We
are very excited that Lisa is coming to Dakota State,” Coach
Cynthia Henning said, “Lisa has a very strong understanding of the
game and she displays a great deal of leadership and court sense.”
During her high school career, Rogers was a three year starting
varsity setter for the Bulldogs and led the Bulldogs into the
regional championship match during her senior campaign. “I’ve
really enjoyed watching Lisa during her high school career, and I
think she will do a great job for us at Dakota State.”
Rogers was awarded the Sparkplug Award during her high school
campaign along with being awarded the Hustler Award at Concordia
University and the Best Setter Award at University of Sioux Falls
Volleyball Camp.
Lisa is the daughter of Rex and Mary Rogers and is planning on
majoring in elementary education.

Fischer
Becomes Newest Member of Trojan Volleyball Squad
Krista Fischer a 5’7” outside hitter from Brandon Valley High
School has signed to play volleyball for Dakota State University.
“Krista is definitely a player that we are very excited that we
got,” Coach Cynthia Henning said. “She has good power in her swing
and a very aggressive movement to the ball.”
During her high school career, Fischer was a two year starter for
the Lynx volleyball team and she also competed in track and
basketball for Brandon Valley. She was
selected to the ESD All-Conference team and was named as an
alternate to the South Dakota All-Star Volleyball Team.
“With her quickness and desire to improve, Krista is a very good
fit for Dakota State and the Trojan Volleyball team.”
Fischer is the daughter of Brenda and Dave Fischer and is
majoring in Elementary Education.

Jenks
Set to Spike
for Trojans

Dakota State University has announced that Carly Jenks a 5’11”
outside/middle hitter from Tripp, South Dakota has signed to play
volleyball for the Trojan Volleyball team.
“I’m really excited to have Carly coming into our program,” head
coach Cynthia Henning said. “She is a very strong hitter and can
play multiple positions which make her a very versatile player on
the collegiate court.”
During her high school career at Tripp-Delmont Carly was selected
All Conference during the 2002 and 2003 volleyball campaigns.
Carly was also selected most improved volleyball player during the
2000 – 2001 campaign. Carly also competed in basketball and golf
during her high school career.
“Carly is a very good addition to our program. She has the power
to terminate plays and the ability to really grow and mature into
a very strong collegiate player. I’m really looking forward to
working with her over the course of her collegiate career.”
Jenks is the daughter of Marla and Don Jenks.

Kinyon Signs with Trojan Volleyball
Lindsay Kinyon, a 5’11” middle hitter
from Omaha, NE has signed to play volleyball for Dakota State
University head coach Cynthia Henning announced today.
Kinyon was a four year starter for Burke High School in Omaha, NE
and has played many positions during her scholastic career. In
just her first year playing middle, Kinyon received Honorable
Mention All Conference and Honorable Mention All State during her
senior year.
Kinyon who averaged 3.5 kills per game and .85 blocks per game
holds the Career Ace Serving Record at Burke High School. “Lindsay
is a good fit for Dakota State and our volleyball program; Lindsay
moves well and has a good understanding of the game, and she hits
the angles very well,” Coach Cynthia Henning said. “Another
strength that Lindsay has is her ability to play multiple
positions,” Coach Henning added, “I’m really excited to have a
player as versatile as Lindsay coming into our program. She is
going to do very well at Dakota State and I’m looking forward to
working with her during her career here.”
Along with volleyball, Kinyon also plays tennis and ran track for
Burke High School. Kinyon is a special education major and is the
daughter of Scott and Donna Kinyon.
