Hartje Joins Dakota State Women's Track and Field Program

(Madison,
SD) - Karisa Hartje became the third signee to join the Dakota State University
Women's Track and Field program for 2008-2009 season. She is currently
attending Spearfish High School and is the daughter of John and Lynn Hartje of Spearfish,
SD.
Hartje was a three year letter winner in track and field at Spearfish High
School, coached by Aaron Nida, and is preparing to begin her senior season this
spring. Her personal best in the 400 meter dash is
1:02.93 and the 200 meter dash in 27.92 seconds. Hartje was also a
volleyball student manager for three years.
"Karisa will bring some depth to the sprints as well as being very valuable in
filling some relay positions," said Trojan Women's Track and Field Head Coach
Trent Mack. "She has a lot experience running on some competitive relays
at the state meet for the Spartans."
Hartje plans to major in Secondary Math Education at Dakota State University.
