Rutledge Added to 2007-08 Roster

University head softball coach Ken Prorok
has announced the signing of junior college
transfer Mandy Rutledge for the upcoming 2007-08
season.

a junior pitcher and utility player comes to D.S.U.
from Garden City Community College
in
Kansas where she earned “Honorable Mention All-Conference”
honors in 2006. During her career at G.C.C.C.
she recorded 37 wins and posted a 2.65 earned
run average while striking out 183 batters. At
the plate Mandy hit .340 for her career while
scoring 59 runs for the Broncos’ as their
lead-off hitter.
“I am excited that Mandy has decided to
join our program. The fact that Mandy can play
any of a number of positions for us makes her a
great asset to our program. In addition to her
multifaceted defensive abilities, Mandy has the
ability to be a true lead-off and base stealing
threat for us which will bolster our offense
tremendously” stated Prorok.
Dakota State is coming off of a 2007
season in which the Trojans where ranked
regionally for six of the eight rankings, and
defeated three of the four nationally ranked
teams they played.
