Dakota State University head softball coach Ken
Prorok announces the signing of Lanea
Hair to a letter of intent to play softball for
the Trojans in 2009.
Hair is a 5-2 right-handed infielder from
Firth, NE. Hair attends Norris High School in
Firth; Firth is located 25 miles south of
Lincoln, NE. While playing for the Titans she
earned all-conference, and all-state honors.
Hair is also the school record holder for most
assists, put-outs and sacrifices in a career.
Hair not only excels on the field, but in the
classroom as well. She is ranked in the top 1/3
of her class and will major in exercise science
with an emphasis on physical therapy while
attending Dakota State University.
“I am very excited about
Lanea joining our
program; she brings
with her a team first mentality which is evident
by the many defensive accolades she has earned.
I fully expect Lanea
to become a main stay in our infield over the
next couple of years,” added coach Prorok.
The Trojans open their 2008 season on
February 8th when they take on 2006
national tournament
qualifier Grandview College (IA).
