Gramke to join Trojans in
2009

The Dakota State University softball program
announces it’s fifth
commitment
to the 2009 recruiting class. Leigh Gramke from
Tekamah-Herman High School in Tekamah NE. has
signed a letter of intent declaring that she
will play for the Trojans in 2009.
During
her career at Tekamah-Herman Gramke has been an
offensive force; she currently holds the school
records for stolen bases in a season,
homeruns in a season,
homeruns in a career, highest
batting
average in a season and a career,
she also holds the record for
highest on base percentage in a season when she
reached base safely 70 times in 34 games
in 2005. Gramke
has been named to the all-conference team three
times, selected to the all-state team twice; she
was
also named to the Nebraska “Super-State”
team in 2007 after hitting
.419, scoring
38 runs, and
pounding out 5
homeruns.
“Leigh is a great addition for
our program, I fully expect her to step in and
to compete for a starting spot right away. In
addition to her offensive abilities Leigh posses
a very strong arm and plays with great
intensity. I feel Leigh will flourish in our
program, and will have a great career for us,”
added head coach Ken Prorok.
The Trojans currently have
commitments from five incoming high school
seniors.
