Climb in Latest Poll
Sioux City, IA 4/16/07 -
The Dakota State University softball team moves
up to the number nine spot in the latest NAIA
Region III poll released earlier today. The
Trojans make the move after splitting with
Dickinson State earlier in the week, Dickinson
is the top ranked team in the region and is
currently ranked 18th in the latest NAIA Top 25
poll.
The Trojans will look to improve their regional
and conference records this week as they host
Mayville State University on Wednesday and then
Jamestown College, currently ranked 6th in the
region this weekend. The Trojans are currently
15-15 overall and 5-5 in the Dakota Athletic
Conference.
"We are glad to move up in the polls, but there
are still three tough weeks of games left that
will determine a lot on where teams end up and
who makes the regional tournament." stated head
coach Ken Prorok.
The Trojans are in action again on Wednesday as
they host the Comets of Mayville State
University, first pitch is set for 3:00 pm.
