Weekend Preview
of the Dakota Dome Tournament
Madison, SD 3/16/07 -
This
weekend the Trojan softball team travels to
Vermilion, South Dakota to partake in the Dakota
Dome tournament hosted by NCAA D-II University
of South Dakota. The Trojans fresh off of a 12
game 10 day road trip to Tucson, AZ, where they
finished 8-4, take on Jamestown College (ND)
currently 9-5 overall Saturday at 9:00 am and
then take on host team
University of South Dakota currently 4-10 at
10:45 am.
Sunday the Trojans will face
Morningside College (IA) currently 10-2 at 1:45
pm and then face NCAA D-II Wayne State (NE)
currently 9-3 at 3:30 pm. The Trojans faced the
mustangs of Morningside in Tucson, with the
mustang offense leaving the Trojans searching
for answers as the Trojans gave up 14 runs on 18
hits.
“This weekend will be a great
indicator of where we are as a program and as a
team. Playing two NCAA D-II programs, along with
two regionally ranked opponents will give us an
idea of what we need to work on in order to
reach our goals” stated Head Coach Ken Prorok.
