Trojans go 2-0 on Day 2

Tucson, AZ 3/6/06 - On a 80 degree day in Tucson, AZ the Trojans began day two of their 7 day trip with games against Dominican University (IL) and Viterbo University (WI). In the first game of the double header the Trojans came out swinging scoring 17 runs on 23 hits in just five innings of play.

 The Trojans who had 10 different people record hits in the game disposed of Dominican University with a final score of 17-0. In the game Allie Gilbert, Allison Hubers and Amber Postma each had 4 hits.

In the second game of the day the Trojans took on Viterbo University. The Trojans bats stayed hot pounding out 11 more hits, bringing their total for the day to 34. However the Trojans struggled to string the hits together and would only score three runs.

Those three runs would proof to be enough as Junior Steph Brakel threw a complete game 4 hitter allowing only two runs for her third win of the season.

The Trojans currently 4-2 will take on Judson College and Morningside on Tuesday.
