Trojans Complete Season Sweep of PC

           Madison, SD (4/12/06) – The Dakota State University Trojan softball team completed a season sweep of Presentation College on Wednesday defeating Presentation 16-5 and 11-1 in a double header at the Thue Softball Complex. On the day the Trojans pounded out 27 runs on 27 hits and saw several players turn in solid performances at the plate. Junior Allie Gilbert had 5 hits and drove in 8 runs on the day, Red-shirt Freshman Jessica VanLoy recorded 5 hits while driving in four runs, Alli Hubers and Jessie Klingenberg each recorded 4 hits on the day as well.

            In the circle the Trojans got a solid day from Junior Steph Brakel (13-11) and Freshman Katie Albertus (4-2) combined for 10 innings of work allowing 6 runs on 11 hits while striking out 6.

            The Trojans improve to 17-13 overall and will host conference opponent Mayville State University this weekend with games on Friday at 1:00 and Saturday at Noon.
