Trojans are 7-3 in Arizona Tucson, AZ 3/10/06 – Today the Trojans took on a pair of NAIA private schools in Wisconsin Lutheran (WI.) and Bethany Lutheran (MN.) the Trojans came into the day looking to improve upon their 6 -4 overall record and that is exactly what they did. In the first game of the day the Trojans took on Wisconsin Lutheran, the Trojans only managed 6 hits and 3 runs against the Warriors but it proved to be enough as junior Stephanie Brakel allowed 1 run on three hits, to gain her seventh win of the season. In the game 8 of the 9 Trojan starters reached base and the Trojans also stole 4 bases in the game. In the second game of the day the Trojans looked to improve on their 7-4 record. Facing Bethany Lutheran the Trojans pounded out 11 hits and scored 9 runs. Offensively the Trojans were lead by junior Lori Olen who went 3 for 3 at the plate, she was accompanied by sophomore Amber Hubers who had two doubles and sophomore Allison Hubers who hit her first homerun of the season over the right center filed fence traveling an estimated 260 feet. Junior Stephanie Brakel picked up the win allowing 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 6, Brakel improved her record to 8-4 on the season. The Trojans face regional opponent Dordt College (IA.) and NCAA Division II Fort Lewis (CO.) tomorrow as the Trojans wrap up their 12 game schedule in Arizona.
