Pyle Picks DSU

The Dakota State University softball team announced today the signing of Emily Pyle for the 2007 season. Pyle a shortstop / third baseman from Marshalltown Community College, hit .356 last season while driving in 29 runs and striking out only 4 times in 189 at bats for the Tigers. Pyle was selected to the NJCAA D-II All-Region XI team (First Team) last season in recognition of her accomplishments.

Emily will be working towards an Exercise Science degree while attending Dakota State University and wants to work with a professional sports team after her graduation.

“Emily will be a great addition to our program; she brings a very gifted bat from the left side and is a true student of the game. Emily had many choices coming out of Junior College finally narrowing it down to University of North Texas, Iowa State and us. In the end our academics and the direction the program is headed is what convinced her that DSU was the place for her.” Stated associate head coach Ken Prorok.
