Trojans Begin Phase II

The Dakota State University softball program will be a little sore for the next few weeks as they begin their winter conditioning program. The Trojans will participate in a demanding program that will improve their cardiovascular endurance as well as their hand eye coordination.

"Phase II is the part of our program that we really turn the heat up on our athletes in terms of physical and mental toughness. They will participate in a strength program two days a week and will participate in a cardiovascular / plyometric program three days a week." Said Coach Prorok.

"This program and the way it is structured will really help our athletes come together as a team and will also help develop leaders in our program." stated Head Coach Brad Hesser.

The cardiovascular / plyometric program consists of numerous different activities and drills designed to improve foot speed, hand eye coordination, balance, core strength, and lastly endurance. The Trojans will continue with this program until they begin official practices again in February.
