Dakota State University's Alum Lynch Plays for Sioux City Bandits

April 30, 2008

(Madison, SD) -- Dakota State University's Alum Mitch Lynch made his professional football debut this past Saturday evening for the Sioux City Bandits.  The Bandits lost to the Bloomington Extreme 53-49 with eight lead changes in the contest.  However, the 5'10" rookie from Dakota State University was perfect in his kicking performance, going five for five in extra points and hitting two field goals of 25 and 48 yards.  These were all "clutch kicks" in which the consistent leg of Mitch Lynch put the Bandits ahead with each of these kicks.

The rookie who earned NAIA Academic All-American honors in 2007 proved that he could perform under pressure.  Lynch has not missed an extra point since 2005, dating back to his collegiate career.  Sioux City will travel to Sioux Falls this upcoming Saturday May 3, 2008 for date with the 2007 UIF Champion Sioux Falls Storm.

Mitch is the son of James and Linda Lynch of Helena, MT, and will graduate in May at Dakota State University.
