Kooiman Announces Signing of Magbuhat March 31, 2006  (Madison, SD) - DSU Head Men’s Basketball Coach Wade Kooiman is proud to announce the signing of Rapid City, SD native Josh Magbuhat to a letter of intent for the 2006-2007 basketball season. Magbuhat, a 2004 graduate of Rapid City Stevens High School, comes to DSU by way of South Dakota State University. As a high school athlete, the 6’3” wing helped lead the Stevens Raiders to an appearance in the 2003 South Dakota State Class “AA” Tournament. During his senior season, Josh averaged 17.2ppg, 4.7rpg, and 2.9apg. He was also an Academic All-State and Academic All-Conference selection along with being named second team All-Greater Dakota Conference. “Josh brings a lot to the table,” says Kooiman. “We are very impressed with his abilities, even in the few workouts he’s had with us. Josh has a high basketball I.Q. and the academic background to be a successful student here at Dakota State.”
Josh will also participate in track for Coach Buzz Stevenson and the
Trojans. In 2004, Josh was the South Dakota Class “AA” state champion
in the high jump for Stevens. |
