Hoefert to Play for Dakota State
April 24, 2006

(Madison, SD) -
DSU Head Men’s
Basketball Coach Wade Kooiman is proud to announce the signing of the
fifth member of the Trojans’ 2006-2007 recruiting class. Garrett
Hoefert, a 6’5 forward from Salem, SD, has signed a national letter of
intent to play basketball for Kooiman and the Trojans.
Hoefert comes to DSU from McCook Central High School after a fine career
for the Cougars. During his senior year, Garrett averaged 10ppg to go
along with a team-leading 7rpg, and 2.5bpg, earning himself an
All-Conference Honorable Mention selection and the team’s Most Improved
Award.
Coach Kooiman notes, “Garrett is extremely hard working. He does more
with the abilities he has, allowing him to outperform many of the
players on the floor. Garrett will undoubtedly be a great addition to
DSU and the men’s basketball program.”
