August 14, 2006

(Madison, SD) - Dakota State University head men’s basketball coach Wade Kooiman is proud to announce the signing of Estelline, SD native Andy Hansen to a DAC letter of intent for the upcoming school year.

Hansen, a 6’4” forward and 2004 graduate of Estelline High School, comes to DSU after spending that past two years at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND.  For the Bison, Hansen appeared in six games during the 2005-2006 season.  As a high school standout, he was a two-year captain and team MVP for the Estelline Redmen.  He also earned 1st Team All-State honors following his senior year in which he averaged 20 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

“Andy will come in and provide additional depth at the forward position for us this upcoming year,” says Kooiman.  “His strength, athleticism, and will to win will be counted on throughout his time at DSU.  Andy is a great addition to our university and our men’s basketball program.”
