Dakota State kept close with NCAA Division I but loses in exhibition action November 6, 2006 (Madison, SD) - After a great win to start the 2006-2007 season on Friday night, the Trojans were defeated by the Jackrabbits 88-72 in exhibition play in Brookings, SD Sunday night. Two Trojans players scored in double figures, led by Joe Backus with 25 points and Frank Calles with 22 points including six three-pointers. Off the bench, freshman Brian Bolin had eight points and Bryce Kreutzfeldt tallied seven points for the Trojans. The Trojans (1-0) only turned the ball over 16 times Sunday night, opposed to 32 turnovers in the win over Dana College Friday night. On another positive note Sunday night, the Trojans shot 43.5 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent from the line.
