Trojans picked to finish 8th in DAC Preseason Poll

(Madison, SD) -  Defending conference champion Mayville State is the choice of Dakota Athletic Conference men's basketball coaches in their preseason poll.

The Comets (28-6 overall/12-2 in the DAC in 2005-06), who return three starters from last year's team that reached the national quarterfinals, received six first place votes to top the preseason rankings.

Jamestown Collee (10-19/5-9) received a first place vote to finish second with Minot State (18-11/9-5) third and Dickinson State (11-18/6-8) fourth.  South Dakota School of Mines (9-20/5-9) received a first place ballot and is tied with Valley City State (14-15/7-7) for fifth.  Black Hills State (17-14/10-4) and Dakota State (6-23/2-12) round out the poll in seventh and eighth.

The poll was conducted by the Dakota Athletic Conference.
