Fort Hays State Transfer Joins Trojan Hoops Program

Dakota State University Men’s Basketball Coach Wade Kooiman has announced the signing of Ian Wright to a letter of intent. Wright is transferring to DSU from Ft. Hays State in Hays, Kansas where he red-shirted this past season under Head Coach Mark Jones.   Wright is originally from Santa Rosa, CA and attended Mendocino Junior College from 2002 – 2004.

Wright is a 6’6”, 190 lb. player who is projected to help the Trojans with his outstanding perimeter shooting and his ability to rebound.

“Ian can definitely shoot,” said Kooiman.  “He’s got NBA range, and a great pull-up jumper.  He will keep a lot of our opponents honest defensively, and his length will make him a solid perimeter defender.”

Wright transfers in with a 3.4 GPA and plans to major in Business.
