California Sophomore to Play at DSU

Dakota State University Men’s Basketball Coach Wade Kooiman has announced the signing of Donald Williams to a letter of intent.  Williams is transferring to DSU as a sophomore from Irvine Valley College in Irvine, California where he graduated this past summer with an AA degree and an overall GPA of 3.3.  Williams is originally from Long Beach, CA and attended Long Beach Poly High School.

Williams is a 6’3”, 215 lb. multi-purpose player and is projected to help the Trojans at the small forward position.  As a freshman at Irvine Valley College, Donald connected on 49% of his field goal attempts, 46% from the 3-point range, and shot 81% from the free throw line.

“Don will be able to help us in a lot of ways.  He is extremely competitive and can defend every perimeter position on the floor.” Kooiman said.  “Don has a very high basketball I.Q., we believe he’ll be great in our motion offense.”
