Wisdom and Blue to play
for Trojans

Dakota State University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tim Schuring announced
today the signing of Bellevue, Nebraska native, Shuan Wisdom
(pictured left). By signing, Wisdom becomes the most recent member
of the Trojan recruiting class of 2004.
Wisdom, a 5’11” junior transfer from McCook Community College in McCook,
NE averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game for the
Indians over the past two seasons. He was an All-Conference performer in
the Nebraska Conference for two seasons and was named to the Omaha World
Herald First Team in 2004. In addition, he shot 44.4% from behind the arc
and just over 77% from the charity stripe during
his career at McCook.
“We’ve had our eye on Shuan since we recruited him out of Bellevue West
High School two seasons ago,” said Schuring. “Once we had him on campus
for a visit this past April, we were sold. He’s a perfect fit for our
institution and program.”
Shuan, the son of Fred and Elma Wisdom plans to major in Computer Science
at Dakota State. He received his AA degree from McCook Community College
last week.

the signing of Leon Blue (pictured right) to a
letter of intent. Blue is transferring to DSU from Eastern Wyoming College
in Torrington, Wyoming.
Blue is a 6’5”, 210 lb. Multi-purpose player who is projected to help the
Trojans at both the guard and forward positions. He was a team captain
for Coach Andy Ward’s 2003-2004 EWC team that placed 8th in the year’s
NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Blue averaged 7.4 points and 3.6
rebounds per game for the Lancers, including 18 points,
6 rebounds performance versus Laramie County
Community College. Leon connected on 47% of his field goal attempts and
shot better than 70% from the free-throw
line.
“We’re real excited to have Leon in the Program,” Schuring said. “I think
he’s an outstanding fit for our institution and team. He is a very
versatile player that can have an impact for us at numerous positions both
offensively and defensively.”
Blue is the son of Terri Blue and plans to major in business at Dakota
State.
