USF's early run costs Trojans

By: DAN HOLSWORTH, Madison Daily Leader Sports Editor

USF (6-3) used its 3-point shooting to forge a first-half lead, connecting on 8 of its 13 shots beyond the 3-point arc, and shot 65 percent, 17-for-26, from the field. The Cougars posted 60-percent, 30-50, overall field goal shooting.

"Going into the game, our main focus was to take away their inside game," said DSU Coach Tim Schuring. "We did that the first half. The problem with that was they knocked down everything in sight from the perimeter. We have run into a number of hot-shooting teams this year, and this was one of them."
