The home court was no advantage for the Trojans, who saw Jacqson Collins
lead the Tigers' double-figures scorers with 23 points.
Chris Haynes, Steven Deibert, Charles Owens and Jesse Block followed
suit with their respective 16-, 12-, 11- and 10-point outings for DWU.
The Tigers earn a 42-39 cushion and then went on to outscore the Trojans
41-34 in the game's final 20 minutes.
The winners banged in field goals at a 32-for-55, 52-percent clip, which
included a 4-of-11 showing from beyond the three-point arc.
The Trojans, however, went 26-59 in field goals, which included 9-26
3-point shooting.
DWU out-rebounded the Trojans 33-30 as Haynes led the way with eight
nabs. Block and Travis Johnson had five rebounds apiece.
The Trojans got nine rebounds by Sal Raphael, six more from Ryan
Burggraff and five from Leon Blue.
On defense, DWU forced the Trojans into turning the ball over 18 times;
the Tigers misfired on 16 occasions.
DSU goes on the road this weekend, playing in the Super 8 Motel Classic
at Presentation College in Aberdeen Friday and Saturday.
On Friday at 7:30 p.m., the Trojans face host-school Presentation
College, and on Saturday at 3 p.m., DSU takes on the University of
Minnesota-Morris.
