Trojans' surge downs

With the win, DSU's Trojans moved their record to 5-9 while Briar
Cliff's mark dipped to 8-7.
After knotting the game at 38-38 at halftime, the Trojans went on a
45-37 second-half scoring run to nail down the win.
DSU got double-figures, balanced scoring from five Trojans, led by Matt
Nulle with 15 points. Sal Raphael picked up a double-double, pumping in
15 points and yanking down 13 rebounds.
Ryan Burggraff scored 14 points, Blake Hyde added 13 and Leon Blue had
10 as the Trojans shot 51 percent, going 28-55 (which included six
3-pointers) from the field.
Shaun Wisdom added four assists and Hyde three.
DSU also canned 21 of its 33 free throw attempts and out-rebounded Briar
Cliff 44-39.
Briar Cliff's Martez Van Buren led all scorers, cashing in 20 points,
while teammate Jeremy Moses added 17. Van Buren had two blocked shots
and Moses had a pair of assists.
For the game, Briar Cliff went 30-73 from the field, including four 3's,
but it scored just 11 points from the charity stripe.
