Trojan Men's Basketball Team Assists Habitat for Humanity Program

September 18, 2008

(Madison, SD) –  For the second straight year, the Dakota State Men’s Basketball program volunteered to help the Habitat for Humanity in Madison, SD.  This year, the Trojan’s Men’s Basketball program had 17 members, along with Head Coach Wade Kooiman and Associate Head Coach Orion Thompson, working the Hope Studios setting up for the concert fundraiser.

This fundraiser is one of the many that Habitat for Humanity does to be able to help support the building of houses like last year’s that was done for Susan Nordaune, a DSU employee.

Barbara Johnson is the executive director of the East Central South Dakota Habitat for Humanity.     For more information or interested in volunteering in the Habitat for Humanity project, contact Barbara Johnson at

The men’s basketball team worked for the day setting up tents, moving furniture, installing crowd control fence and setting up the stage.
