Joe Backus Scores 1,000th Career Points at Dakota State

(Madison, SD) -  Joe Backus, a junior from Wentworth, South Dakota, scored his 1,000th point Friday, February 9 in a game versus Valley City State.  Backus scored 26 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in Trojans' loss to DAC conference foe Valley City State, 59-72.  He is currently leading the DAC in scoring with 19.7 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game.  Joe is the son of Wayne and Bonnie Backus of Wentworth, SD.

The Trojans conclude their regular season at Mayville State on Thursday night in Mayville, ND.  The DAC Postseason Tournament starts on Tuesday, February 20th with all eight DAC teams participating.
